How We Get High: A little bit about ingesting concentrates
September 15, 2011 § Leave a Comment
‘Concentrate’ is an umbrella term for any product that is primarily made of cannabis resin glands, the trichomes. This can be water extracted hash, a solvent extract (such as butane or isopropyl), hash oil, budder, wax, shatter and so on.
Until the appearance of tools such as the ‘vapor skillet’ and ‘nail and dome’, high-quality concentrates were not as widely accessible as they are today.

An example of a 'vapor skillet'. Also called 'vapor curve' or 'vapor swing'. The titanium pad is heated using a butane torch, then the concentrate is 'dabbed' on to the now hot pad, creating smoke that is pulled through the glass bell. Photo pulled from ALT's GlassDistrict.Com account.

I know. We’ve been terrible blog-keepers. Succumbing to humdrum of endless caffeine, late-night work sessions, to-do lists and their ilk…we’ve lost a little drive. But, momentum seems to be gaining! Just last night I saw jack scribbling notes about the oft-ignored Indica Dominant, Original Chronic.
Anyhow, in place of any literary substance I will once again throw the new photos up here to appease the patient reader. Hope it serves has some sort of consolation.

3 Tables at the Farmer’s Market
April 14, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Ah yes, the Cannabis Farmer’s Market. Knotty came by my house for a sample of his newest, White Rhino, and we were on our way. Here are 3 tables that caught the eye.
A great co-op that the journal has mentioned before. Last I visited CEG for their tasty and stupefying Caboose, but really fell in love with the uplifting hybrid, #5. A couple of weeks later the owner came by during a photo session with Knottyy, leaving a huge nug (7.2g) of Hawaiian Skunk on his way out. This monster bud was bursting with a tropical bouquet dominated by pineapple. I smoked it daily for an uplifting, top to bottom stone.
Today we took a look at some of their top genetics, G13 and King Kush.
My take home? Ken’s GDP, the only varietal to break a 10$ donation on this stellar menu, pictured below. Ken’s Grandaddy Purple (GDP) from Cutting Edge was a great representation of what the strain could do, a decent cure, great handling and wonderful attention to detail in preserving the Grandaddy’s tranquil smoke
