Butane Testing Comes to Washington State MMJ

July 30, 2012 § 2 Comments

Seattle’s Best Cannabis & Concentrates in-house concentrate specialist Refine has been spearheading an effort alongside WA state’s independent laboratory Northwest Botanical Analysis to develop a standard of testing for butane and any commercial additives that may be present.

This test can even be tried against specific brands of commercial butane the processor may have used, to test not only for butane, but also its unique make up of other chemicals.

We will be working through the next couple weeks to test the results against multiple variables-such as purging surface used, temperatures, starting material, etc. to try and produce a test that can guarantee a safe pass/fail system for Washington State patients.

The strong and immediate relief offered through concentrated medicine that can be combusted and inhaled (translation: smoking) is an extremely powerful tool for patients previously dependent on opiates or other pill-form medication. We hope to lead the charge in an even safer, and more effective way of relief.

We’ll keep you updated, happy dabbing.

How We Get High #2 “1 joint, 2 Varietals”

February 18, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Cannabis is best used to each individual’s needs. Unlike the dead-ends of opiate based painkillers and benzodiazepines, marijuana gives the user hope in endless variety and highly controlled dosages. This thought inspired the beginning of  a regular photo based essay on individual methods of ingestion, and reasons for medicating.

I hope that this series will encourage cannabis users to customize their intake, enjoy the process, and promote autonomy among patients.

For the non-user I hope this represents the oft-ignored care and dignity present in the Medical Marijuana community.

Happy Viewing.

I Go to Suzie Q’s (Dub, Skywalker, Afi Goo, Jack Herer)

January 12, 2011 § 1 Comment

I am obsessed with variety. While this trait can be overwhelming or distracting at times, as a Cannabis user I feel it is rewarded. We are presented with new crosses, varietals, and esoteric strains only sought out by the most patient of growers…it never stops! So as I mulled over which dispensaries to visit the Seattle area, Suzie Q’s claim to ‘the greatest variety of strains’ in Seattle naturally jumped out at me. Full review after the jump.
